Secret Hitler (Mobile) — Privacy Policy

Secret Hitler (Mobile) is a free, non-commercial fan adaptation of the Secret Hitler party game, created by findiel (github.com/findiel). This page explains what data the app collects and how it's used.

What we collect

• A randomly-generated player ID. Created on your device the first time you open the app, stored locally, and sent to our server so it can recognize you across reconnects and game sessions. It is not tied to your name, email, or any account.
• Your chosen nickname. Whatever you type in — visible to other players in your room, and used to label your entries on the public leaderboard.
• Leaderboard stats. If you finish games, your player ID, nickname, and win/kick/disconnect counts are stored in a plain file on our server so a global leaderboard can be shown to all players. This is the only data we persist to disk.
• In-game chat and gameplay actions. Held only in server memory for as long as your room exists. Not written to disk, not logged, gone once the room closes.

What we don't collect

• No real name, email address, phone number, or precise location.
• No device identifiers beyond the randomly-generated player ID described above.
• No analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs of any kind.
• No payment information — the app is free and has no purchases.

Reporting another player

The app includes an in-app report/mute feature. Muting a player is handled entirely on your device and never reaches our server. Reporting a player opens your device's email app with a prefilled message to us — that email is sent directly through your own email provider, not logged or stored by the app itself.

Sharing

We don't sell or share your data with any third party. There is no advertising in this app.

Your choices

There is no account to delete, since none exists. Uninstalling the app removes your locally-stored player ID and nickname. If you'd like your leaderboard entry removed, contact us using the email below with your in-app nickname.

Children

This app is not directed at children under 13. Secret Hitler is a game about political intrigue set against a historical backdrop, intended for a general audience capable of understanding satire and historical fiction, not young children.

We may update this page as the app changes. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date.
